Q-Net Traffic Sets a Record as Corridor Traffic Floods the Backbone
The quantum-secured backbone is carrying more than ever — and its engineers keep explaining what it does not do.

The Q-Net backbone logged its heaviest sustained traffic on record this month, network operators said, as relief coordination and financial settlement between corridor cities pushed volume past prior peaks. The load is being carried, not strained: quantum-key distribution secures each channel over the ordinary classical network, and adding traffic adds no new physics, only capacity. Dr. Wei-Lin Tan of the Singapore Institute used the moment to correct a persistent public misreading. "Entanglement makes the line unbreakable to eavesdroppers," she told a Singapore forum. "It does not carry the message and it is not faster than light — the message still travels the ordinary way, just unforgeably sealed." The distinction matters, she argued, because relief agencies now route sensitive migrant-registry data over Q-Net trusting exactly that seal. Record traffic, in other words, is a story about trust holding under weight — not about a new kind of speed.
